30 November 2021 - "Where I Photograph Wildlife in the UK" - Rhyl Photographic Society

We just wanted to say thank you for the talk you gave to us this week and it was an enjoyable and informative evening and had lots of good feedback from our members.  Stuart who compiled our programme this year said that you did not charge for the talk and as we are a small club, we really appreciate this and as a thank you we have sent an Amazon Voucher for £20 to show our gratitude for a great talk.  Thank you and we wish you all the best in life and photography.  Kind Regards  Jason Burton  President Rhyl Photographic Society

25 November 2021 - "Where I Photograph Wildlife in the UK" - Beacon Camera Club (Malvern Worcestershire)

I wanted to say a huge thank you for your presentation last night.  I had travelled to the Vale Community Centre to watch the talk on the big screen, but unfortunately had car trouble and had to leave prematurely. What I did see was very impressive indeed and it was clear to me just how much effort you had put in. It was also extremely informative and instructional, particularly in relation to technical details and photographic locations.  A truly diverse and wonderful night of photography which is really appreciated!  Best wishes, Colin

22 November 2021 - "An Australasian Adventure and its Wildlife" - Ripon City Photographic Society

Many thanks again for the excellent presentation you gave last night. We very much enjoyed seeing the impressive collection of birds and wildlife that you photographed on your journey into Australia. It is evident from the huge variety of species that you showed that we were in the presence of both a skilled photographer and very knowledgeable naturalist. It was also  obvious that a great deal of thought and effort had gone into the presentation and we really appreciated the addition of camera settings which added to the overall enjoyment. Hopefully we will be able to catch up with you again and see and hear more of your experiences.  Cheers Stuart, Programme Secretary

Great talk from Malcolm Hupman last night via zoom at Ripon,  His epic trip around the east coast and centre of Australia. Lots of bird life. Suzanne Lamb, President

18 November 2021 - "Where I Photograph Wildlife in the UK" - Biggleswade & District Camera Club

Thanks you for your presentation to the club at the David Tyler Memorial Evening last night.  I am sure you will have gathered the feelings for Dave at the club and how important it was for some of the members who still directly remember him to celebrate his life in this way.  Your presentation was absolutely right for this event because you presented us a very wide range of excellent wildlife that is clearly around us if you look in the right places at the right time much as Dave did, particularly in his latter years.  The fully inclusive nature of all of your images was refreshing and I am sure some of our members will have taken note of some of the settings you showed us to improve their work when they are out and about.  I hope you also enjoyed the companionship, so thank you again.  Bryan, Chairman,  Biggleswade and District Camera Club

I would like to thank you for your talk last Thursday and for sharing your beautiful images.   I am sure members enjoyed your talk and will visit some of the local reserve shown.    We have a Clickers group which goes out somewhere each month and possibly your suggestions will be on that list too. Regards,  Ronnie Lane,  Treasurer

3 August 2021 - "An Australasian Adventure and its Wildlife" - Rhondda Photography Club

Thank you so much for your talk on Tuesday for RPC. All of our members, both those who were there and those who were unable to attend and watched the recording, really enjoyed your talk and found it very insightful. My dad, Martin, wants to extend his apologies in having to leave during the second half, however he has watched the rest via the recording and also really enjoyed it. Thank you so much for letting us record the evening, it has proven helpful for some of our members. Perhaps we will be able to book another of your talks in the future and possibly even meet face to face one day for an in club talk.  Many thanks,  Shannon and Martin Minty.

20 July 2021 - "Where I Photograph Wildlife in the UK" - Plymstock Camera Club

I want to thank you on behalf of all the members who attended your excellent talk on Tuesday.  Your images were lovely and your commentary was most enjoyable.  The maps were informative and I am sure our members will be enthused about visiting some of them if they are in the area.  Certainly, my husband and I will be going to some of them the next time we go to the Rutland Birdfair.  Thank you for pointing us all to your website, which has a wealth of valuable information on it which, I am sure, will be used by those wildlife photographers who joined us.  All in all, an excellent and enjoyable evening and it would be wonderful to have you back for another of your talks, if you are willing.  Thank you so much.

Kind regards Lesley Carr

12 July 2021 - "An Australasian Adventure and its Wildlife" - Chet Valley Photography Club

On behalf of the Chet Valley Photography Club, I would like to say a big thank you for an excellent evening, it was so interesting. What a lovely thing to have been able do, to go across Australia and New Zealand. Also a very big thank you for your generosity in not charging, it was most kind of you. I think most clubs like ours are struggling a bit because of covid, we have some members that will not do Zoom meetings!! Hopefully it will all soon be in the past!!  Many Thanks once again and take care.  Beryl Rout  Programme Secretary of the Chet Valley Photography Club

6 July 2021 - "An Australasian Adventure and its Wildlife" - Daventry Photographic Society

Wow, thank you so much - your talk was so interesting and the tips and hints on settings very useful and personally as Australia is a country I probably won’t ever get to now, I found all the images and the route maps/information you shared the next best thing. I have already received a complimentary e mail from another member saying similar things - you were fantastic and we are very grateful that you would share your trip with the members.  We wish you every fun, enjoyable camera days and the best of health for the future, and looking forward to hopefully seeing you (hopefully in person)at the Club again soon.  Thank you from all of us.  Linda Ariss Programme Secretary

Thank you for your excellent presentation on Tues. It took me right back to the colours and sounds when we went. Amazing country.

Bee Jackson Chair

7 June 2021 - "Where I Photograph Wildlife in the UK" - South London Photographic Society

I would like to thank you very much for your very interesting talk last night.  The feed back has been superb.  The maps showing us where to go and the images taken at these places were excellent!  I thought it was a brilliant idea to include some bird song of some of the species shown.  It brings the image to life.  For us in London, visiting some of the locations, such as the Rutland Water Nature Reserve will mean an overnight stay (or two) but will be well worth the effort.  Now that lockdown is easing, my shutter finger is itching to go so I'm looking at a visit to the Wetlands Centre in Barnes on the banks of the Thames.  Perhaps a club outing?  Best wishes Den. President  SLPS

I couldn't make Monday night so I've just watched your recording. Excellent presentation adding so much more information with locations & knowledge of your subjects etc   Thank you,.   Kind regards  Pat Couder CPAGB BPE1 QPSA

4 June 2021 - "Where I Photograph Wildlife in the UK" - Reading Camera Club

Many thanks for your entertaining and informative talk for Reading Camera Club yesterday evening, which was very well received by our members and guests. I know the details of the images that you gave were much appreciated by the audience. It was a great demonstration of how local knowledge is so important for finding the best images.  I was delighted to see the Grey Wagtail - I saw a bird the other week that was either a Grey or a Yellow Wagtail and I wasn't sure which but having seen your picture am more confident that it was a Grey!
Regards,  Nigel Holmes

25 May 2021 - "My Lockdown Garden 2020" - Thurrock Camera Club

Firstly I wanted to drop you this quick note to say thank you for your presentation last night and especially for giving up your time for free to our club. Your presentation was enjoyed by all of our members that attended and they appreciated both your dedication and enthusiasm to maintaining your hobby while confined  during lockdown, both of which were conveyed by your talk.  It was great to hear how you were able to attract a good variety of bird species, along with insects to an urban garden  and the images presented, along with the details of how they were captured, have certainly inspired a number of our members to revisit the photographic opportunities available to them in the own gardens.

As promised we will be recommending your talk to other local clubs over the coming weeks.  Secondly, as mentioned  we would be delighted if you would be available to provide a further talk to the club during our centenary season which commences in September.   At the moment I only have one open date , being 12th April 2022.  I appreciate that this is still a long way off but it would be excellent news if you would be available for that evening to give us your talk "Where I photograph wildlife in the UK" which we would anticipate running via zoom.  I welcome your thoughts on whether you might be available for this date.  In the meantime thanks again for giving us a very enjoyable evening.  Best Regards, David

17 May 2021 - "Where I Photograph Wildlife in the UK" - Blythe Bridge Camera Club

Just wanted to say thank you again for the talk you gave to the members of Blythe Bridge Camera Club last night. It was very well received by our members.  A number of our members said that you had made them aware of some place which they did not know about but will definitely be visiting them.  Thanks again.  Best regards Alan Lovatt, Treasurer/Vice President, Blythe Bridge Camera Club

11 May 2021 - "Where I Photograph Wildlife in the UK" - Gloucester Camera Club

10 May 2021 - "Where I Photograph Wildlife in the UK" - Coventry Photographic Society

Just minutes before you finished your excellent talk to Coventry PS this evening I had a power failure , which cut me off. I was disappointed because I wanted to congratulate you on a brilliant and comprehensive selection of pictures of wildlife. I was also intrigued by the fact that you used a high ISO in most cases to enable you to obtain a suitable shutter speed. Showing this info was a brilliant idea and extremely interesting and helpful. Congratulations and many thanks - apologies for having to leave slightly earlier because of the wretched power failure. All best wishes. John Morgan (Cov PS)

On behalf of Coventry Photographic Society, I would like to thank you for giving us your lecture ‘Where I photograph wildlife in the UK’, last Monday. It was very well received by our members.  I have had many comments appreciating you including information on your camera settings, and locations used. This is particularly helpful to a number of our members who are fairly new to club photography, and the sort of help they have been requesting.  As my own primary interest is in nature photography, your lecture was particularly interesting for me, and I was very impressed by the quality of your images.  It has been a definite advantage of Zoom that we are able to book photographers outside our normal area. The fact you gave your lecture free of charge was greatly appreciated by our Treasurer!  I hope we will be able to see some more of your work in the future.  Best wishes,  Terry Bailey CPAGB

7 May 2021 - "Where I Photograph Wildlife in the UK" - Brentwood & District Photographic Club

On behalf of the Brentwood & District Photographic Club I would like to thank you for your great talk last night.  We were amazed at the quality and quantity of your presentation and I know that our members were impressed with your work.  Our Chair, Julie Hutson contacted me to suggest that as we enjoyed your talk so much perhaps we can offer a donation to you, or your favorite charity, (perhaps RSPB), to show our appreciation.

Many thanks,  Phil Ricketts ARPS  Programme Secretary

5 May 2021 - "Where I Photograph Wildlife in the UK" - Wellington & District Camera Club

Thank you so much for your hugely informative and professional talk on Wednesday, to Wellington and friends.   What a range of birds we saw, and beautifully photographed. I can appreciate how many hours and years it took to assemble this. The bird song as well was lovely to hear.

I am hoping to make a book for the club on this year of zoom, and wonder if I may use your flier/s and a couple of photos in it please? You choose!  Thank you again, very much for such a lovely evening.

27 April 2021 - "My Lockdown Garden 2020"  Ryton Camera Club

Can I say a big thank you for a very informative talk last night.  Not only were the images superb but your comments and the tech info provided, made for a very entertaining evening.  Your self isolation period was put to good use and I am sure provided much entertainment in a "dark" period.  Given the opportunity, you like us I am sure would have been travelling but needs must and at lest your time was not wasted as a beautiful period of life has been recorded.  Perhaps sometimes we don't stop and enjoy our surroundings enough as we always rush from one thing to the next.  We all much appreciated the time and dedication you have put into bringing your garden into our homes.

Wyn & Martin Sedgwick

23 February 2021 - "Where I Photograph Wildlife in the UK"  Market Harborough Photographic Society

Last night at MHPS, we hosted Malcolm Hupman, who gave a talk on his wildlife photography work. The presentation was well put together, with many images well supported by information and helpful detail.

I had previously seen Malcolm deliver a presentation face to face, and it didn't lose much when delivered on Zoom. A very good evening and we will be making a presentation to L&RWT, Osprey Camera fund at Rutland Water, on his behalf.

On a personal note I have been to some of the places you mentioned but I will be visiting others when I can get down to see my friend in Market Harborough.  Today although cold it is sunny and dry so I’ve found a place local to me called the Wigan Flashes so I’m going to go and have a walk there with my camera.  Thank you again for a wonderful talk.

This was just lovely,  Thank you for inviting me.  Pictures were spectacular but I think it's the story that got  to me. How you started with pigeons and ended with the butterflies and house mouse.

4 January 2021 - “An Australasian Adventure and its Wildlife” - Wrexham and District Photographic Society

We all thoroughly enjoyed – and were inspired – by your Zoom talk  last night.  Every week I put a report on the WDPS web-site about the previous presentation, and I like to illustrate these with an image.  Could you  let me have one of your images for this please.  We do, of course, acknowledge the photographer.  I cannot think which would best represent your talk, but perhaps the huge Wedge Tailed Eagle is the – to most people- one that represents Australia. (Personally I am attracted to the beautifully named Superb Fairy-Wren).  Again many thanks.

 Peter Emerson,  hon. Sec, WDPS.

16 December 2020 - “Where I Photograph Wildlife in the UK” - Lutterworth Photographic Society Co-op

4 November 2020 - "My Lockdown Garden" - Corby Photographic Club

We were really delighted with your “ My  Lockdown Garden” presentation.  Not only were the photos amazing but we also learnt a great deal about some of the habits of your bird life.  Harry recognised a lot of the birds you showed but not the detail that you went into.  It was very evident that you must have spent many, many hours putting it together and “ your presenter’s voice” was most professional. Well done.

"I am very pleased that I was able to listen and watch in to your talk on Friday night to LLPS  as it was absolutely marvellous.

I thought all your images were stunning-so clear and bright and it is a great thrill to see smaller birds as I find a lot of bird photographers show  the bigger species. And your clear well paced talk was ideal. "
